24 week belly

See, I told you I’d put a new pic up every week!

Happy V-day Aric!!

Belly Pics!

I’ve been taking a picture of my belly each week since week 12. It’s very clear that in weeks 12-15 was still very bloated. Week 16 is the first week it looks like I have a belly.

When you look at week by week from then on, you can really see you start to grow! Check them out!

12 weeks. Quite bloated!

13 weeks. Still bloated, and mirror writing FAIL!

14 weeks. My ass is HUGE!

15 weeks. The bloat is slightly smaller.

16 weeks. The bloat is finally gone, and a tiny baby bump is showing!

Skip week 17 for reasons that I cannot explain.

18 weeks. The larger belly has made my fat ass look far more proportionate!

19 weeks. It took me two days to get a pic I liked this week.

20 weeks. Just an hour before we learned you were a boy!

21 weeks. You can’t really see the belly, but that’s OK! I was on top of a mountain!

22 weeks. I swear going to Colorado made me have a huge growth spurt!

23 weeks. Just over halfway there and I’ve already got a decent sized belly!

Hopefully I’ll add a new pic to your weekly updates as they come …. but don’t bet on it :)

Skipping weeks

Apparently I didn’t have the motivation last week to give you a 23 week update, so instead I will give you a 24 week update a day in advance!

Nana got to feel you move for the first time last night! She was so excited! The first little kick was hardly noticeable, but apparently you really wanted Nana to know you were there, so you started rolling around like a squirmy worm and Nana got a good feel!

This week, you weigh just over a pound and a quarter. Apparently you packed on 4 ounces over the last week! Also, you are about as long from head to toe as an ear of corn, which is kinda weird. And to keep you packed in tight, my uterus is now the size of a soccer ball!

One of the biggest milestones this week is that you have reached your viability date! That means that if you are born any time from here on out, there is a very good chance you will survive! However, I’m begging you to keep cooking. Sure you’ll live if you are born now, but your quality of life will not be very high. Your brain still needs to finish developing, and your lungs can’t quite handle breathing on their own. As much as a comfort as it is to know you have a fighting chance at life, I’d rather you had a 99.9999999999999% chance of living.

Now for the quizzle:

How far along? 24 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Still no scale, which means still 10 pounds up!
Maternity clothes? Yep! And even some of those and getting uncomfortable.
Stretch marks? There’s a new one every day. I fear looking at my bottom, so I won’t.
Sleep: Yes, however when I do, I have very vivid dreams. Some are bordering on scary too, so I have to force myself awake so I don’t get too scared.
Best moment this week: Finishing your dresser! It’s not quite the same color as your crib, but it’s darn close, and let’s face it, you won’t even be able to tell the difference until you’re, like, 7 … unless you are colorblind like your father, which you won’t be.
Movement: Pretty much all the time. It’s just a matter of time before we can SEE you moving!
Food cravings: Tacos, like always. I think I might even give birth to a taco. Also, turkey sandwiches with light Miracle Whip and speckled cheese.
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out? In, but getting shallower every day.
What I miss: My friends. It seems as though since I’ve been pregnant, they assume I don’t want to hang out anymore. Oh well, we are having a party next month, so that will make up for it!
What I am looking forward to: Finishing the nursery. We still need knobs/pulls for the dresser, a glider, a mattress, bedding, and plastic totes for storage purposes. Wow … that list is getting smaller and smaller!
Weekly Wisdom: Always let you mother feel the baby kick before your siblings.
Milestones: You are considered “viable” now!
