Hot Momma Monday: Back in the Saddle

So. Remember when I lost weight and reached the goal I set January 2011? And then in January 2012 I made the goal to be a better woman all around?

Yeah. About that.

I’ve gained 7 pounds since Christmas. I blame cheese curds. And beer.

And being the better woman all around? Yeah. Failing there, too.

Last week I woke up one morning and said “TODAY I WILL DIET!!”

Then I ATE ALL THE FOOD.

Apparently you can’t just wake up one day and decide to diet. Oops.

So I made it a goal for myself to eat myself silly this weekend and hop back on the diet train this morning. I even roped Tim into it so I have a buddy at home. Plus my mom has been changing her diet since January as well, so I’ll have a buddy in her, as well.

Once again, I’ll be using My Fitness Pal. And Tim is, too. I’m not doing ALL the diet thinking, he has to contribute, too! I’m Sticky41284 and he’s TheSambard, in case you wanna follow us :)

I’m probably not going to be updating here much of my weight loss, probably just once a month. But still, I wanted to put it out to tha interwebz that I’m back.

So there’s that.

I have nothing more to say. I actually don’t know why I thought this would make a legit blog post. You probably should skip it.

Although, if you’ve read this far, it means it’s too late for you to skip it. Sorry I didn’t warn you in advance.

Hot Momma Monday on a Tuesday: Weight loss update

Here’s a super quick weight loss update for ya – I’m down a total of 5 pounds. It was 6.5, but then birthday weekend happened and I made bugle mix (recipe forthcoming), buffalo chicken dip, rainbow cupcakes, red velvet cakeballs, and a giant red Muno cake. My diet didn’t stand a chance.

Also, I noticed that while I’m at work, I drink about 64 ounces of water each day (two Nalgenes). But on the weekend, I’m lucky if I get one glass of water down. And this weekend I FELT it! I felt blah and dehydrated and of COURSE I choose beer over water.

le sigh.

But, it’s a new week, I’m back on track, and I’m ready to get rid of these last 5 pounds before Thanksgiving (which I am hosting this year ……. hold me).

Coming up the rest of the week: All my hundreds of DIY projects I took on for Aric’s birthday (I still don’t know how I had time for all of that), some recipes, and I don’t know what else, but I’m sure it will be great ;)

Hot Momma Monday: Making my Christmas List!

First thing’s first: I’m down 3.6 pounds so far! I’m certain it was just water weight, as I’m feeling MUCH less bloated than I was when I started (which was part of the reason I decided to start this!)

Oh well! It still means that I have only 6.4 to go to reach my goal of losing 10 pounds before the holidays! I haven’t decided if I’m going to continue losing weight once I reach that goal. I think what I might do is still keep up with food tracking and staying at or around 1200 calories a day, but on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other parties throughout, I’ll just skip tracking :) I figure if I stay on track the majority of the holiday season, I can go crazy on those couple days.

Besides, the goal of this whole thing is to come out the other side of the holidays no heavier than I was last week. And I HIGHLY doubt that if I lose those 10 pounds PLUS keep up with the tracking other than on the holidays that I’ll gain all those 10 pounds back.

Those that are curious, I’m using My Fitness Pal online (plus the phone app). It’s a totally free service and has some great community features. If you’re using it, go ahead and “friend” me! I’m Sticky41284.

Ok, now, moving on. Speaking of the holidays, it’s time to start making my Christmas list. I’m looking to stock up on cute accessories like jewelry, headbands, etc. This is where you come in. Give me your suggestions for your favorite places to buy these things, either handmade or store bought. I’ve found several handmade shops that I’m adding to my wish list, but their holiday shopping windows close pretty early, so I’d like to have some store bought suggestions.
