Spring is here. Can you see it?
There are tiny buds on the trees. Bright green blades of grass trying to push though the brown ones. The geese are flying north once again. Where it looked as though death had overcome, life that was once dormant is slowly waking.
Spring is here. Can you smell it?
The damp earth, pushing forward new life. The dead leaves from the summer before are rotting, changing into moist nutrients for the bulbs.
Spring is here. Can you hear it?
Birds are singing their mating songs, finding their spouses. They are bringing more new life to the world as the season moves on.
Spring is here. Can you taste it?
Brats. Burgers. Cold salads. Fresh fruits and herbs from the farmers market. Iced coffee.
Spring is here. Can you feel it?
It’s new, fresh. The old layers have been shed. It’s as though we are all born again in the spring time. People wonder why someone would live in such a climate as Minnesota. It’s because of these wonderful transition seasons. They might be fleeting, only lasting a week or two before the next season takes over. But these change over seasons? We live for them.
Spring is here. It can snow buckets more again, but I know spring is here. She canĀ disguiseĀ herself however she wants, but I know she’s here, wiping our slates clean again, allowing us to start fresh for the year.
January 1st isn’t my chance to start a new year. March is my chance. March has always and forever treated me so kindly. March is my chance to start new.
It is here.
Spring is here.
Can you feel it?
