WHEW!
My house is finally clean. The dishes are finally washed. The cookies are …. well … still numerous. Wanna come over and have a cookie party? Or is your house full of cookies, too? And to add to my cookie stash, Target’s Christmas stuff was 50% off, including winter Oreos and Fudge covered mint Oreos. And festive cake mix. And festive frosting for said cake mix.
I’m waiting until February to make the cake. I’m putting a moratorium on all sweets until then.
ANYWAY!
This Christmas was amazing, even though it brought truth to the phrase “the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” Aric got himself quite a nasty cold which left him cranky and tired around when we were supposed to go to church Christmas Eve. I stayed home at Tim’s parents’ house so Aric could nap and get ready for present time.
He was, however, in a GREAT mood for presents, even though he really didn’t seem to care. He was so overstimulated with the toys and his cousins that he spent a good portion of the evening spinning in circles
He did, however, stop for a bit to play with one of his new toys with his cousin, Jake:
Also, I LOVE this picture of Aric with his Grandpa A:
Of course Tim and his brother had to be naughty and rearrange the Nativity scene:
That would be GI Joe’s keeping Baby Jesus hostage, and the Wise Men teaching Mary how to shoot craps. ::sigh:: Naughty boys!
We got home and Tim and I exchanged gifts. His big present was a Blu-Ray player, YAY! My big present was a Gussy tote. I didn’t actually get it, I’ll get it in a week or so, but still! I’m excited for it!
Then Santa attempted to put together Aric’s Cozy Coupe. Many swears were said. I almost told Santa to shove it and never come back again. But then we finished. Christmas morning? Aric was in LOVE!!!
My mom, step-dad, and sisters came over for brunch. I cooked up a ton of bacon, egg bake, and Pioneer Woman’s Cinnamon Rolls! My breakfast was a hit. We all ate so much, we almost had a big group nap right in my living room!
The rest of the day was spent with just our little family, which was amazing. We relaxed and played with toys and ordered Chinese food. It was, by far, the BEST Christmas EVER!

I love:
1) the rearranged nativity
2) Aric’s footie pajamas
3) for cookies to disappear!
Here’s to 2011!
